One of my favourite beginner-friendly sewing projects is a baby bib! Not only are they super useful, but they also make a thoughtful handmade gift. Today I am going to show you a simple, step-by-step tutorial, so you can sew your own!
What You Will Need:
- Sewing machine
- Fabric - cotton double gauze
- Backing fabric - microfleece or terry cloth
- Snaps
- Scissors
- Matching thread

Step 1. Cut Your Fabric
- Use an existing bib as a pattern or download a simple bib template online
- Cut 1 front piece and one backing piece in the same shape

Step 2. Pin and Sew
- Place the fabrics right sides together and pin around the edges
- Sew around the bib, leaving a small opening for turning

Step 3. Turn and Topstitch
- Turn the bib right side out and press it flat
- Topstitch around the edges to give it a neat finish

Step 4. Add the Snaps
- Attach the snaps to the bib's neck area
- Double check placement to ensure it is comfortable for the baby

And that's it! A simple, handmade baby bib - both cute and practical!
Top tip
If you would like to add a personal touch to your bib, you can personalise it by simply adding your baby's name with hand embroidery.
