Before I had kids, I heard so many myths about raising them. Some were funny, some were completely false and some were...well, just wishful thinking!
Here are a few of my favourite parenting myths vs. reality checks:
Myth #1: 'Babies Outgrow the Messy Phase.'
Reality: No. The mess just changes. Newborns have nappy leaks, toddlers smear food everywhere ('they've always got jam on their hands even if there's no jam in the house'), and older kids somehow manage to bring half of the playground into the house.

Myth #2: 'Parenting Gets Easier'
Reality: It doesn't necessarily get easier - it just gets different. The challenges change as they grow (not as much sleepless nights as it was at the beginning, but say hello to tantrums and endless questions!)
Myth #3: 'You Will Always Know What You Are Doing.'
Reality: Not at all! Most of us figure it out as we go and hoping for the best. Google is basically a co-parent at this point!

Myth #4: 'Kids Will Eat Whatever You Give Them.'
Reality: Only if it's something they like. It’s still the hardest thing for me to accept - kids are annoyingly picky eaters. We always have a battle over taking a single bite of a vegetable; yet somehow, they find room for snacks five minutes later.
Parenting is a wild ride full of surprises, laughs, and moments of 'what just happened?!' But at the end of the day, no matter how unpredictable it is, believe it or not; I wouldn't trade it for anything.
