Why Handmade Matters

My journey and Benefits of choosing Handmade for your Baby

As a seamstress I have always loved sewing items for any occasion. When I was pregnant, I definitely wanted to make some clothes for my little girl, and this wasn't easy, because

  1. I never made anything for a baby before and
  2. I didn't even realise how tiny babies are!

But anyway... I truly wanted to make something special for her. And I did! At that time I was working as a seamstress for a family who were nursery owners - making tabards and hats for their tinkering kits, or embroidering small t-shirts for the nursery... Stuff like that. And I thought to myself; why not make clothes or accessories for babies and kids? Easy-peasy... But I had to put a hold onto this idea for a couple of years. My baby was born. I was trying to survive the newborn stage, so, I was on a different level mentally; I will talk about this later.

4 years later I was pregnant again with my 2nd baby girl, and I said, now is the time to do something! So, I gathered some information how to make a comforter for example, what fabrics to choose etc. I didn't want to buy another cheaply made one, because let's be honest - the cheap one is always the expensive one. And I am not saying that you always have to buy the expensive item. No-no. I'm saying do your research and do not fall for the cheapest options. I know, it is overwhelming to choose the right products for your little one. With so many options available, it’s easy to fall into the trap of buying mass-produced items from big companies that may not always prioritize quality. Not mentioning the workers behind those items... That’s why I started Little White Foxes – a brand dedicated to bringing you fun, colourful, and high-quality handmade baby essentials.

Why Handmade?

Unlike factory-made products, handmade items carry a personal touch. Each piece I create is crafted with love, care, and attention to detail. Here’s why choosing handmade makes a difference:

Durability – Mass-produced items are often made with lower-quality materials to cut costs. My handmade products are designed to last, so you don’t have to replace them constantly.

Safer Materials – I carefully choose high-quality, baby-friendly fabrics that are soft, breathable, and free from harmful chemicals.

Unique & Playful Designs – I love using fabrics with fun prints to bring joy to little wardrobes! Unlike other brands that stick to pastels, my designs are fun, bold, and full of personality.

Supports Small Business – By purchasing handmade, you’re not just buying a product; you’re supporting a real person’s passion and craft.

See you in the next post! xx

"the cheap one is always the expensive one" my husband's grandma always said this, and it's a lesson we carry with us into the future.
